Time Sponsorship and Financial Sponsorship
There’s much confusion regarding corporate sponsorship and the Executive MBA. Much of this confusion is employer driven. Many employers and prospective students forgo the EMBA because they feel corporate financial sponsorship is essential and must support the entire cost of tuition. Neither is true. Schools will not turn away qualified applicants without corporate financial sponsorship and as many as 20% of EMBA graduates never receive financial sponsorship, as illustrated below.
Many employers mistakenly have policies against the EMBA for all the wrong reasons. They fail to realize that time sponsorship is of greater importance and something within their grasps of accommodating in order to show support for the EMBA. Additionally, there are a number of financial mechanisms that can protect the education investment as described in detail in the An Insider’s Guide.
