Great points especially the juggling of work life with school life with family life. The most accommodating model for this is the EMBA as you and your peers, plus professors are all in the same boat. They are a bit more accommodating and understanding. Good luck! - EMBA World

EMBA World does not rate EMBA Programs. We leave this to the professionals. I would suggest checking out US News and World Report. They have an annual edition that rates satisfaction of students in the EMBA. That is the route I would take to learn more about business school and the Executive MBA. However, given that you will soon graduate my recommendation would be to work for several years before returning to school. - EMBA World.

The EMBA is designed for working professionals typically aged 33 and above. You are never old to learn and you should never stop learning. Given the economy I am not sure if retiring is even an option any more. If you will continue to work for a long time then you have to enjoy it and feel fulfilled. The EMBA in your case will not only represent your love of learning but possibly put you on an entirely new pay scale if more doors open up.
Good luck! EMBA World

Some of these stories are inspiring; it's great to see how much people care about furthering their education, from a reputable school. Arizona was mentioned as a popular destination for road warriors and I'm not surprised at all considering Thunderbird School of Global Management is headquartered in Glendale, Arizona. Thunderbird has world renowned executive MBA programs. So I could see how the commute would be worth it to go to such a school, and there are always distance programs if you can't afford the commute.

I am glad to read this commentary or article. I am 52 years old and recently a friend that happens to be a professor at Cal said that I might be too old for an MBA it's mostly for younger people. I was disappointed and nearly felt like dropping out of my program. I have until Dec. 19, 2011 to graduate now, and I hate to be a quitter! However, I know I will owe a lot of money and will need to get a good job. The MBA will hopefully open up doors to me that would not be open especially when so many people already have a Bachelor degree.
Thanks for the insight.

I agree that MBA at 40 will give a boost to the career provided you are on the right path. It is a bit demanding as you have three parties to manage i.e. family, job & studies so, until one is sure of the goals he should not join MBA. Rubbing shoulders with young guns is itself put you in competitive mode. Please don't forget to have commitment from your better half as you wont succeed without their help.
